Dugast Tubulars

Okay, so I know I have sworn off tubulars and have gone on and on about how they are not worth the trouble even though the ride is superior...but...I have this 1965 Rene Herse that arrived a few weeks back. I've been working on the last few bits before I bring it to Mike for a refurbishing (extent to which remains open).

Does anyone know if the Dugast tubulars that Jitensha has are the silk ones or are they the cotton?

Has anyone ordered directly from www.a-dugast.com?

If I were to use the widest road silk versions, what modern box-style rim would be your choice? (I may opt for some Mavic SSc P-R but those are anodized and I'm lookiing for silver rims.) Silver rims are simply a must. French is nearly a must but I'm open on that one.

This is a very cool bike and it deserves only the best.

DBRK,

There are currently a pair of Silver SSC tubular rims on e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=36144

And I believe that Baron at Renaissance Cycles has access to SSC silver rims.
Not sure about the Dugast tires tho, but they are the only
correct tire for you Herse.

Dugast tires at BusinessCycles Miami

Douglas,

BusinessCycles in Miami, Florida also stocks Dugast. They generally carry track application items but will special order what's not in stock. They have both cotton and silk in stock currently though probably not in a suitable width for your needs.

Good luck.

Douglas and Dugast

Douglas:

Just found my way here while researching a CSi that I purchased on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1

I needed a modern 'go fast' bike in the stable next to the old Masi's, Paramount, and Colnago. The herd is also graced by two Rivs, an Atlantis, and a Merlin. I'm in line for a Baylis single speed. That'll leave an RS for the future. My children are both riding now so its double complicated -- 'doubly fun'!

I have Dugast pista's on my track bike. Ahh, mi piace molto!

Warmest regards,

Carlo Carr
