OT: Inexpensive Camcorders

Did a search, but much of it 2+ years old. Which in electronics, can be a lifetime.

So anyway, looking for a somewhat inexpensive camcorder for my 10 year old daughter. Would prefer to stay in the $200-$250 range. Most of what I have gathered online so far says they all pretty much stink in this price range. Poor video quality, very poor low light picture, terrible audio, etc.

Anything out there decent? Do I need to increase my budget?

She does not want the pocket size deals, ie - Flip, PowerShot, Zi8, etc.
