big body short legs

any recommendations for bibs? i wear an xl in just about everything, but with my 30" inseam, i tend to get bunching with most shorts, especially those with 'euro' fit. i've tried most brands and the best fit so far is with a pair of inexpensive castellis, but it's still not that great. any recommendations?

Your best bet is probably Louis Garneau or Sugoi, and if the legs are a bit long, just fold the last centimeter or two back. They'll still grip and work fine.

If you can, have them altered locally.

agree with BD, I use sugoi in a large and they work well. Their upper end bib is quite nice. The legs seem a bit shorter than comparable bibs in the same size. An online store, I think piedmont has a huge selection including sugoi and excellent customer service.

Pearl Izumi?

My Pearl Izumi bibs seem to be built for shorter folks. You may see if any of your local shops have a pair of them and try them out?

Try calling Boure. Maybe they can make a custom shortened pair for you. Just a thought...
