FYI: Cliff Bar recall

http://www.clifbar.com/voluntary-recall/

If you're using PB Cliff bars to carbo load you might want to toss them.

I have to say I was little grossed out that Clif Bar bought peanut butter from a place like King Nut. The same peanut butter that goes into those yellow cracker sandwiches goes into Clif Bars? Yech.

Just saw in the news that they found the source of the problem with peanut butter.

Brand Name: CLIF BAR
Product Description: Crunchy Peanut Butter - Best by: 21JUN09 to 01OCT09 and 03NOV09 to 28NOV09

I checked all my peanut butter Clif bars, and their expiration date has already passed, so I'm good.

For William's benefit, Squirrel Appreciation day just happened to be January 21st. He posted this to the thread on that day. Interesting how things work out, huh?

Methinks Clif Bar is going to have a hard time living this one down.

Yeah, the next revelation will be the lead-laced wrappers from China.

Clif Bar made good on the bars that were recalled.

After learning about the recall, I checked the ones I had and sure enough all of the PB ones I still had were part of this recall (of course my family and I had already consumed some of these). I contacted Clif Bar via their website and they followed up with a couple of emails stating they would take care of it. I had forgotten about this since it had been a while, but then yesterday I received a bunch of coupons in the mail for free Clif Bars of my choosing -- and they didn't even make me buy PB ones again
