Broken nipple on Ksyrium SL SSC
I was trying to touch up my front Ksyrium with the Park Ksyrium spoke tool. The nipples were not turning very well, and all of a sudden, one of them just fell apart, with about 3/4 of it gone. I assume it's not safe to ride at this point, but what happens if the remainder of the nipple is frozen in the rim when I get around to installing the new spoke/nipple?

Not likely. Cut the spoke and the nipple can probably be turned with pliers, once it has no tension on it.
If you ride in the wet very often, a drop of penetrating lube on each nipple might be wise, well ahead of any attempt to true the wheel. |

i would try wd40 or compariable. it is my understanding that this is a common problem with the ksyerium wheels. i have elites that have over 7500 miles on them and have never been touched and perfectly true. i am sure that the nipples are frozen on them also. aluminum on aluminum is prone to oxidation.
