Moots Cinch Seatpost

I ordered Moots' new Cinch seat post at the end of last year in anticipation of an early spring delivery.

It was worth the wait. The newly engineered clamping mechanism has separate adjustments bolts for tilt (5mm allen key) and saddle rail position (6mm allen key.) Both adjustments are accessed through the side opening. The tilt adjustment bolt is accessed from the drive side and the saddle rail position is accessed from both the drive and non-drive sides.

If you're a fan of their layback or straight laced seat post then you'll probably appreciate the easier adjustment mechanism of the Cinch.

Very beautiful and a great design as well!

They just dont make it with very much setback. If they did, I'd have ordered one already for my Moots Compact SL.

Just wondering why you ordered the set-back version from Moots, based on your picture it appears that you could have ordered a staright seatpost and had the clamp hit the middle of your saddle rails.

On a side note, I have a Moots Ti seatpost as well & love it, I replaced my Easton carbon fiber seatpost after noticing it started to develop a "lip" on the backside of the post where it meets the seat-clamp on the frame....in fact & just bought their stem as well for the Ottrott....

I do need some setback. Any straight post would have put the clamps too far forward for most any saddle that I would consider. The Moots layback is about as far as I can go on that saddle and maintain KOPS. I have other saddles where the clamp is closer to rail center with KOPS.

But, I tend to prefer a saddle position slightly behind KOPS for two reasons. I prefer to pedal in a seated climbing position behind KOPS. There's lots of long sustained climbing in my area (central CO Rockies) ...flats are few and far between And I also prefer to get more horizontally stretched out as the season progresses and my mileage increases. The frame build was designed around that post's setback and a few different saddle rail lengths as well as a 125mm stem length.

The shake out ride last Sunday with the new stem and seat post was really good in terms of fit/comfort/performance. I decided to start at KOPS and see how it felt in terms of how stretched out I was with the new stem.
