`Found-money' tourer project

I have just opened a bank account intended only to help save for a tourer. The requirements so far are steel, TIG welding and S&S couplers, and right now I'm leaning heavily in the direction of Tournesol. The idea here will be to slowly squirrel away 'found money' - tax refunds, dividends etc., in effect giving me a free bike. However, the account now is only at about $600, so this may take a while. Those interested in speeding things up are encouraged to make donations toward this worthy cause. Thanks in advance.

I would really like to do some touring some day....anyways, I would head over to Bruce Gordon and get A BLT along with his racks.
The saving and the shopping are all part of the experience. Have fun!

Welcome to the idea. I also have $600 into the frameset, but own the brakes (disc), hubs, crankset, etc. Am about $1000 away from a completed bike. Having mine built as a custom by HHRG in Media, PA. Some details in the threads.

If you haven't followed these threads, lots of comments by experience touring folks, pic's, etc.
