I have an Alpha Q here with a 355mm steerer and they have done custom steerers in the past; Wound Up will do a custom length if you ask nice.

He is a good one...

Serotta F3 10.5
The best fork for Clydesdale riders – a super-stiff lay-up combined with an extra-long steering column no longer limits the fork options of the largest cyclists.

43mm rake
450mm steering column
MSRP: $630 clear, $740 painted/tinted

I have a new-in-the-box, Wound Up fork here with a 450mm steer tube... 700c x 45mm - SWEET FORK!

I have always been a big fan of the Wound Up fork, despite what some people think of their looks! The great thing about the WU fork is that their steer tubes feature a very thin aluminum tube inside that helps prevent catastrophic failures.

Call me if you are interested.

Cheers,

KP

I've got an Alpha Q Z Pro. It had a 450mm steerer tube and has unlimited spacer stack height.

I do not dig the Wound Up look.

For you guys with the Alpha Q...nice fork? Ouzo Pro nice?

Does it hold the front wheel and not break?

AQ Z-Pro

The AlphaQ with the long steerer is the Z-Pro. It is a very good fork. Strong, etc. It does not have as nice a ride as the Ouzo Pro since it is desinged for the larger rider (read heavier) but it is still a VERY good fork. Keep in mind that they only come in 41 or 44mm rakes. If you only need a 300mm steerer, then the Reynolds UL will do. Good luck.

Mine is mounted on my Habanero and rides really well. I am a bigger than average rider at 6'4" and 205 pounds. No complaints after almost a year.

The only negative I can think of is the glued in insert. After the steerer tube is cut and the insert mounted you are pretty much stuck with the length. You can take a little more off, but I can't remember how much.
