Whats the latest on bike mounted cameras??

Whats everyone using lately for bike camera's, specifically for catching incidences, license plates, etc?
I'm interested in a system that has both front and rear views. Front because where I live, cars only have license plates on the back of the car, so need the front camera to have any hope for catching it..

Thanks!!

I am not sure that would help.

It does not identify who was driving the car. Driver could say they loaned the car to somebody.

Police generally do not care or follow up on cyclists assaulted by cars.
If it was serious injury or death then maybe.

A few weeks ago I was hit by an egg thrown from a truck. I doubt reporting it to the police would have resulted in any action. On another instance a water bottle was thrown at us and we reported the incident and license to a sheriff. His response was you probably should not be riding on these roads.

By all means go ahead if you think it would be helpful.

Where I live, law enforcement has absolutely followed up on this sort of thing, especially if contact is made. We had one case of a driver crowding us over (a single file paceline of 7 people riding on the far right of road) and hit one of the riders with his passenger mirror. Almost caused a crash, rider managed to stay up. We got his plate, reported it, ended up in court with the driver receiving a nice fine (north of 2k) for dangerous driving or whatever the technical term was, and for leaving the scene of an accident.

I am glad the police in your area are responsive.
Here in SoCal not so much. Cars are king.
