2014 Cielo Sportif Classic
I EP purchased this frameset in November of 2013 and it was delivered in March of 2014. It's been a great bike, I finally got around to taking some photos.

I really like those Sportif's - I think its the classic fork that does it for me. How do you rate the ride quality/comfort levels?

It's the only road bike I've ridden in the last 7 years and prior to that I was riding an old Ibis so I don't have much to compare it to. It's not quick but it is extremely comfortable. It's been a lot of fun on dirt or gravel roads but probably not the most efficient bike for long road rides. The reason I went with the Classic over the Racer at the time was due to clearance, I'm currently running 35s with room to spare. I have a set of Honjo fenders painted to match but I've never installed them, it would be ideal as a city commuter IMO.

Love it, love it. I have a 2014 Sportif Racer (slightly more aggresive geometry than this) I'm building up as we speak. Same color with orange decals.

Nice! Fellow Cielo owner here as well. That stem is giving me all kinds of joy....Who made it?

King made the stems in house. They initially offered two versions, one for the Racer (this stem) and one with 20mm of rise for the model of bike I own (I think it was called the classic). About a year after receiving the bike I received an email saying that after testing the stem with rise they didn’t feel it was safe for production. I asked if they would paint one of their spacer kits to match which worked out OK.

This is kind of a cool little detail, apparently early on there was concern about slippage on the semi-horizontal dropouts due to the finish so they started to machine the inside face of the rear dropouts

That fork is indeed gorgeous. Sycip did these bikes, yeah? I wonder if they'd do a fork in its own...

Jay was Cielo’s Design Manager but the bikes were welded by a small handful of people including King from what I understood. The fork crown and dropouts were made in house so those may be tricky to track down but it'd be worth asking Sycip!

Wow - that thing is just perfect.
Also, I wish I could take photos of my bikes that well!

Thanks guys! One of the reasons I finally got around to taking photos is I borrowed a nice camera from the school I work at. The quality of photos is due to the camera, not the photographer!
