what color bar tape?

My Fierte needs some new bar tape and I would like to use some color other than black. The decals are outlined in Ti, the seat is stitched with a color that is real close to the Ti color on the decals so I was thinking the same color bar tape would tie in nicely. I am actually having trouble finding that color bar tape, about the closest I have seen is the Cinelli grey, just not sure if the grey will work. I could possibly go with a black, grey splash or a black, yellow splash, or I could always go back with black.

heck, try yellow. i pretty much stuck to black, but then on my motorola mx leader, i went old school and matched the team-issue red tape, and now i love the splash of color. i bet bbdave could hook you up with some neat yellow tape!

Heres a little trick you might wanna try: Get black Cinelli, and Yellow Cinelli, cork tape. Now tape the bars below the brake handles yellow, and above the handles with the black! Or vice-versa.I've seen it done two tone like this and it looks kinda cool...different. Jeff N.

The Silva medium blue cork tape would look beautiful on your bike. Blue and yellow are naturally complementary. You need another color in there besides yellow and shades of gray/black.

After a quick Yahoo search, I found the Cinelli cork tape in gray...

But I think the Yellow & Black "splash" tape would look nice (Cinelli & Profile make this color combination)....

And as Terry said, you might want to check out the STELLA AZZURRA Eleganza Tape in yellow & black...

I was thinking of the Stella Azzurra Eleganza

I have a friend that uses this tape and I wanted to try it but they didn't have the grey or silver....I think I will run by the local shop and see what I think of blue with my bike (I do like yellow and blue together)....would I be getting too close to the bee look with the yellow and black?...hmmm what would the black and blue stripe look like?

who is douglas anyway? i am seriously considering the purchase of that blue AL bike in a 56 with DA 10, then swapping out the parts of a 9spd, then giving the douglas to my girlfriend. is that fair?

There's never anything wrong with black, but

yellow can be nice if you can match the yellow--otherwise it can sometimes look off. OTOH, this is a low budget investment--you could try a couple and see what you get.

Just put some of the gray cinelli cork tape on my light blue CSi and I like it. YMMV.
