Thanksgiving week riding
Not working this week. Visiting the mother-in-law in Ft. Collins. Good riding and good beer. FoCo is awesome. |

In Marin County the Appetite Seminar is the longest running annual off-road ride anywhere. Started in 1974, I promoted it for a few years, then it no longer needed promotion.
Depending on weather, anywhere from 800-1000 riders show up. There is no promotion, no title sponsor, no official anything. Everyone knows the date and the route and they show up over a period of several hours. With a guaranteed crowd, sponsors show up anyway. Top of the longest climb, there will be Power Bar and swag handouts. End of the ride is now sponsored by the Marin Museum of Bicycling/Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, includes copious beer from local breweries. Here are posters from 1981 and 1982, when I still promoted the ride.

Buried in snow here in upstate NY.
Two hours of skiing powder this morning, followed by deer hunting on snowshoes in the afternoon. Fun stuff. |

Tried something new. Hadn't ever been on a full-suspension mountain bike. Hadn't been on a mountain bike in 20 years. So much fun. |
