bruyneel on the strongest rider tdf..

from the new york times

:It’s definitely something everybody will have in mind,” said Johan Bruyneel, the manager of the Discovery Channel team, whose former leader was Armstrong. “But at the end, I think the strongest guy will have won the Tour de France, which ultimately is the best thing that could happen to the race.”

Asked if that meant that the strongest rider of all will have won, Bruyneel added: “No. But he’s definitely the strongest of the riders who are here.”

Brunyeel was never that great a pro. Postal has made his ego swell.

imho, the class thing to do would have been to say "based on what he did thursday, he was the strongest rider we've seen this year, and a worthy champion."

there's only 3 guys worth mentioning who had their invitation revoked. One of em will be back riding for Astana and the other two we'll likely never see race again. I'll say it again. These are the best cyclists in the world right now.

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Nys, being that he's the only one of em who rocks the round bars.

yeah you're right.

sven nys would also eat landis for lunch too.

(p.s. gay bars are fine for cross because most people never use the drops in a cross race. nys is an exception.)

why use road bars on a cross bike if people don't use drops?

those of us who don't use the top levers use the drops on steep hills and drop ins, but the real answer is - it's a style thang.
