That stinks!

Hopefully it all gets taken care of and your buddy is rolling on some replacement hoops soon!

I always find the 'forgot the bikes on the car rack' shots heartbreaking....

(not mine, found randomly on the interwebs)

If he can afford two, he can afford two more. But I would tell your customer that he should move up to Dura Ace wheels.

There;s a lot of other brands in the market, even campagnolo or fulcrum have shimano compatible wheels in full carbon.

And yes, if the dude paid 2 sets of those already sure money is not a problem at all.

???

What does the fact that he could afford them in the first place matter? They were damaged in shipping. Who wouldn't be pissed off at that? And maybe it took him a long time to save for them. I would be incredibly bummed.

Yeah, $$ is still money. Airline destroyed them on the way to nationals a while back. Got a few hundred dollars out of the airline.

. . . are still problems. Somebody is out real $$$ here. This may not be not on a par with being stuck in Darfur, but it's still a real problem the causes someone actual, legitimate grief, unlike, say, Kim Cardasian (misspelling intentional) complaining about the latest attention-whore selfies making her butt look big, either.
