Colnago C60 - EPS cable routing q
Finally had a few hours this afternoon to get this build going, and after a few successes with the battery install and other cable routing issues, I think that I may be stumped here.
Colnago "manual" shows EPS cable from DTI to power unit going through downtube on one side and plugging up the other side with a supplied insert. Clearly, the entrance holes for the down tube cable routing are different - drive side is smaller, but I cannot fit connector ends from either DTI or power unit through the non-drive side. This frame is supposed to support both electronic and mechanical, I have the charging port setup already so I know that I didn't get a mechanical-only version by accident. Am I missing something here? Everything with EPS is pre-connectorized, so cables aren't supposed to be cut. Enlarging something like this on a carbon frame has me nervous, and should not be necessary. TIA, -Ari |

Think the Di2 connectors are a wee bit smaller. But the biggest issue is hearing the(Italian) frame cry every time it notices it has non Italiano componentry.

Thanks guys, got the right size bit last night, will try to get this today. So disappointing that a frame this expensive and supposedly engineered for EPS requires a mod.

I actually called Colnago USA and asked about the C59 and my second EPS install. The gent on the phone whined about Campagnolo 'changing' their connectors from 6mm to 7mm, 'without telling us'..I guess for the C59..but not for the C-60.

We've built a few C-60 with DI2 and have not had to modify anything...

Drilled out the hole, no paint chipping, you can barely tell that anything was done. EPS cable routing finished, drivetrain installed, hopefully will be able to finish this build later today. Right now, time to ride before it gets too hot...

OK, gotta another one for you C60 gurus. Am I missing something, or is there no metal crown race? I cannot find one anywhere, I seem to have the rest of the headset stuff all organized. When I test assemble, it seems to fit without a race, so maybe the bearings just rest on the built-up carbon at the crown?
Thanks guys, this build is killing me, can't wait to get it on the road. -Ari |
