Seven Axiom Replacement Fork Suggestions

My Wound Up fork carbon seems to be delaminating on one side and so I am replacing it on my Seven Axiom circa 2002.
The one I have is a Threaded model, but this may be a good time to change to threadless.

Any suggestions fo a nice fork that will NOT break the bank as I bought the bike here on Paceline about 3 years ago.

Thanks all.

Must post pictures!

I've got a 2000 Seven Axiom that's new to me with Wound Up fork & seatpost. Curious to see other Sevens and hear your impressions of the bike. Thanks, Pat

Wound Up still makes 1" threadless which will be an exact replacement for what you have now, but those are pretty pricey.

Why not a Ritchey Comp? They're less than $200 and have a near identical axle-crown as the Wound Up / old Seven fork. You will also need a new headset.

I'm pretty sure the OPs bike is 1 1/8. I'd check the rake and axle to crown measurement of your current bike and go with a Ritchey, Columbus or Enve. You could go with a seven fork, but you're going to pay a high premium.

Edit: I think I pretty much said the same thing as Pegoready.

I have a Reynolds Ouzo Pro if it turns out you have a 1 1/8. They're great forks and very reasonable.

I'd get a wound up again. Theyre fantastic forks.

I replaced the Wound Up on my 2002 Axiom-like coupler (had a heck of a time selling it here and went for really cheap) with an Enve fork. The Wound Up had a 40mm rake (sta 73.5) and it made the steering too quick for my liking except at high speed. It required too much attention to ride straight. The Enve has a 43mm rake and now the bike handles like my racer. Plus I dropped more than 200 grams.

It's a thought

Been riding on it for 3-4 years and felt fine to me. Then again, what do I know i'm not sure a fancy pants. I would like something comfy and affordable.
