Vittor Corsa Evo CX Tubular Vs. Pave

Corsa has been the tire I've used for the last 2-3 years and have had good experiences using them. Looking at going bigger 24-25mm and considering the Pave.

Thoughts/ Experiences?

TIA

I run the Corsa CX in 25 on my Colnago. Nice tire. The Pave is supposed to be sturdier, but fewer TPI.

The Pave (25) and Corsa SR (24) are both great tires. Based on my experience, both have better traction than the Evo CX in inclement weather. Puncture protection has been very good on the SR and good on the Pave - mostly due to luck.

I typically race on the corsa and train on the pave. I put about 10x more miles on the pave. Love em....better rain tire than the corsa, but the corsa is hard to beat in a crit. I ride the 27mm pave mostly, but I'm rolling the smaller version now. It's a great all around tire. Nearly the ride of the corsa but with a bit more puncture resistance.

for what it's worth, I race the paves often too with no complaints ;-) It's the ugly duckling of tires, but when I see folks rolling them, I know they know.

Maybe I've just had bad luck but I sliced up too many sets of Pavés from road debris to make me happy. I'm not blaming the tires per se since road quality around here is awful and, when it's wet, the little shards of who-knows-what drift into my path. I did like their road feel for what it's worth.

I've taken my Pave 27 off the back and put a GP4 on for the rest of this winter. the Pave is a little more vulnerable to punctures, but it is a more comfortable ride. It will return when the temp goes up.
