removable fenders for a 700c all city macho man

anyone out there have any suggestions for a good removable fender for front and rear on a disc all city macho man? I do not want to keep permanent fender on this bike I want something to throw on in crappy conditions. it seems like most of the clamp on front fenders are ugly. not sure if a mud guard would work better up front. anyone have any input?

also I like running a 38 or 40 mm tire

Seems to me "good" and "easily removable" are an oxymoron when it comes to fenders. Not sure something exists that capture both qualities.

You could use quick guards that clip to your downtube and seat post to give basic coverage for trying to keep you dry, but your feet will still get soaked along with a gunky bike. But they are at least easily removable and probably better than nothing.

Actual full fenders with mud flaps are the best bet, but they're more of a permanent solution.

Planet Bike is what I use on the Moots..adjustable in height..not sure if you will think they are 'ugly' or not.

Easy on/off, keep crap off yer feet and butt..

I was really looking for something to use on those few days a months where it is slushy or wet. I like permanent fenders, just don't want the weight on this bike.

I guess it depends on what you define as hard to mount/unmount.

I have SKS fenders on my Space Horse and they took a while to mount the first time but once they are all set up they don't take a terribly long time to mount/unmount as long as you don't loosen any of the bolts that are involved in adjusting them.

They're just so much better than the clip on fenders I have for my MTB... hard to give them up and given these All-City bikes are already heavy the fenders hardly seem like the straw that breaks the camels back.

When I bought my bike they didn't have any Macho Man discs... I wanted to be able to use racks so I probably still would have ended up with the space horse but that looks like a pretty sweet bike for the price. Geometry looks better to me than some of the other similar frames.

I agree with the set up of sks fenders not being too big of a deal once the limits are set. I was looking for something a little faster though.

I just picked up a set of used SKS with the rubber strap mounts at a bike swap.

Was able to fit them on as well as mount and remove easily and quickly.

Yup. Use something like the Cascadias from Planet Bike, once set up correctly, they'll mount/dismount pretty quick.

I hardly think you're going to notice the weight of SKS/Planet Bike/Bontrager plastic fenders especially since we're dealing with a Steel CX bike.

I bought the sks xl raceblades to use on my winter bike but I can't get the to stop moving on the stays and rubbing my tire. I have fooled with them to get the fit right but just a small bump shifts the rear right into the tire. YMMV
