Monster cross tire suggestions

I am thinking of trying to convert my Concours CX to a Monster cross bike

I know 700X35's fit easily so I was thinking 40's should fit OK but I can't seem to find anything

Anyone out there with some monster cross experience or connections have some suggestions?

I have been very happy with my Vee Rubber 12's. They are a nominal 29x1.75 and measure true to that at about 44.5 mm.

They are great for mixed use and are very inexpensive. If you can fit them, I would suggest giving them a try.

*Edit. I should note that I use these tires mainly for dirt road riding and don't actually race cross*

the Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Roads are awesome if they'll fit... if not, I think Clement has something around a size 40...

Clement X'plor MSO measures 40mm on my HED C2 rims. Great trail tire.

I really like Clements and C2's are what they are going on

I'm going to double check clearances and then try to get the 120tpi version
