I like the TTT Record 84 as well. Classic lines. Never had a problem with mine.

TTT record or the cinelli one that somebody pictured. I had both in my EM.
The TTT record in black looks sick. |

Mine had cinelli XA stem and Giro d’italia bars. Looked and felt proper. Man I miss that bike. Last edited by nighthawk; 08-03-2020 at 02:46 PM. |

Full housing goes from levers to brakes. Just like every other road bike from the era.

Personally I'm partial to a welded steel stem. 3t and ITM had some really nice ones. Different aesthetic though

My $.02
Cinelli or 3T, but honestly you need to pick comfortable bars and then search for the stem. On my Caloi TSX, I went with Nitto bars and stem because all combo sizes are available. Housing will run through that top tube to the rear caliper. Super bike. Enjoy.

Opinionated curmudgeon here. But at least I'm old enough (OK Boomer!) to have raced on this era stuff. Cinelli bar/stem is the sweetest of course, but as someone pointed out, you need to be sure your combo is compatible between 26.4 (mostly older) and 26.0 (newer). No,you cant force them or use a shim. BITD, 1A stem >> XA for a "working" bike, because of creaks on the XA, 1A is like a steel vice. Cinelli Grammo is ugly IMHO , they came out the same time that mullets became popular in the peloton, and I think there's a causal relationship there somehow. Watch out for modern (e.g., compact) bars with quill stems, a lot of them won't work because the bends are too tight to mount. No go on the pictured PMP seatpost too, sorry it's ugly. Get a tapered or fluted Campy post or save money and find a tapered Selcof at a fraction of the cost (that's identical to the campy without the logo (I think Campys were actually made by Selcof, cognicenti please correct if I'm wrong). Or a vintage American Classic post for period correct, super light, CNC ugly but proper. People tended to love them or hate them (not for "husky" riders). But Angry is a grimpeur, he'll love the AC. You could do worse than an Avocet "racing" model saddle too if you want a light, vintage, super comfortable seat that's not a Turbo, Flite, Regal or Concor. Or Brooks. Please don't put a Brooks cinder block or the like on a vintage race bike. Thank you for your consideration.
