PSA: Ibex Outdoor Clothing likely going out of business
This is a local company to me, so this is definitely disappointing. From the local news, they're not pursuing bankruptcy. Instead, they're liquidating everything and will be winding down operations in February 2018.
If you're looking for wool clothing, keep an eye out for discounted prices on their site and in the usual places like sierra trading post.

Noooo! That’s good stuff, and it will be missed.

I'll make a comment that is only slightly tongue-in-cheek: Their stuff is so good it lasts forever and that cuts into repeat business. A first class outfit.

Agree, it's a first class outfit. I tried many wool garments and Ibex was, and continues to be my favorite. They will certainly be missed.

I have many pieces of wool clothing from Ibex, all first-rate. I've been wearing the same Ibex merino wool undershirts for many years.
Very sorry to hear about this. https://www.ibex.com/end-of-the-trail-letter

Same here. Love their stuff. And yep, it lasts. And lasts. How's that for irony, it's almost too good.

Yes it is unfortunate when a major conglomerate like VF Corp that owns the SmartWool brand buys up IceBreaker it doesn't leave much room for the one of the remaining wool brands. I guess in one way you can laud them for not filing brankruptcy in some scheme to appear more attractive to a purchaser ala Niner.

I stopped by their Seattle store yesterday and picked up a bunch of my favorites 30-40% off. My Shak sweaters and El Fito bibs are two of my favorite clothing items. They are super durable and I expect my current kits to last much longer, but will be very sad when I can't get them anymore.

Don't recall seeing the brand in any shops up here in Toronto.
Can anyone comment on the fit? I'm curious about a few items. Too bad I'm late in the game. |

I found it variable... I have some things from them that were undersized, but I haven't bought anything from them for a few years, and the bibs I bought from them are much bigger than typical cycling products (maybe 5 years old).
