Not a great photo, but is this how the disc brake option now looks on Serotta disc frames?

Mine has the diagonal tubing brace, if the brace is what you are asking about. Mine is super rigid with no chatter or squeal. If the brake mount area is not stiff/rigid enough you will have less than ideal brake performance. The diagonal brace completely solves that matter.

I've seen other methods used, such as an elaborately machined drop out with a bracket and bracing for the caliper. You should ask Serotta specifically about how they plan to do your bike. They do make --custom-- bikes so I suspect would be willing to explore alternate methods.

Iasked out it over the winter, and the answer was a bit garbled -words are a really useful human invention, but photography has its moments too, and photo was forthcoming at the time. Now I think I can see how it is. Those elongated dropouts are history. This strut support is the way of it now if this picture is accurately reflecting the moment.
