Modolo Morphos brifters????

Performance Bike just sent me a new catalogue and I saw these brifteurs on sale for $120.

Had never heard of them prior.

Anybody know if these could actually sub for Campy or Shimano and do the job?

I would have loved to try these on my Tandem to replace the bar end shifters. But I now have Ultegra 10 with a triple.

you'll find a lot of comments about these. In particular, people seem in rabid agreement that they're far more trouble than they're worth, specifically since they're very hard to get to work with reliability. In fact, a lot of posters have noted that LBSes frequently can't get the suckers to shift correctly.

I could be wrong, but I think that for Campagnolo compatibility, they only work with 8-speed and the pre-2001 version of 9-speed.

I tried a pair of these about 4 years ago. They seemed like a neat idea (can work with Shimano OR campagnolo AND be adjusted to use with different speed cassettes). However, they were terrible. I could never get them to work correctly and the thumb shifter always left me with a painful spot right on the end of my thumbs.

IMHO, they are a great idea, but would be better used as something to throw at people that you don't like. :)

Why mess with it? Low end campy stuff is so cheap right now, it is silly not to use it if you are on a budget.
