Here's an interesting bit from the latest issue of Bicycle Quarterly about Tread/Q-Factor. Nice chart shows different widths and vintages of various cranks.
PS. Oops. Did I accidentally not crop off e-Ritchie's advertisement on the bottom half of the page? My bad :p
Please keep an eye out for my competing line of DESTRUCTEUR bikes labeled ALEX HERSE.
They forgot the classic Mavic 631 set.
Q is around 134.

Doh. :crap:
Just read the disclaimer on the opening page. I do not. Reproduction in whole or in part is prohibited, including electronic media.
Image has been removed. I've left the ad though :D
Don't believe everything you read. The DA "integrated" (outboard BB?) is certainly not 159mm. Even a triple DA crank has a narrower tread than that.
FSA doubles are about 147 and triples are about 159mm.

to the q-factor page; the page that follows is even more relevant today than ever (on the misguided quest for the absolutely stiffest bikes). plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose..)
