Good day to you all.
This is my first message in this forum, from Spain.
I am choosing the builder of my next aluminium frame and have reduced the list to four builders (sell, a company and three builders), any opinion/advise will be important. They are:
- co-motion
- Carl Strong
- Dave Tiemeyer
- Scott Quiring

Any experiences with them?
Thanks in advance and best regards

Of your choices, I would go with Co-Motion. They know their stuff.

Strong would be another good choice.

I have no experience with Strong but have heard good things. I know a number of people who have puchased Co-Motions and loved the end result.

I would go with Scott Quiring, a very accomplished builder and he races what he sells, but I'm biased living in Michigan and racing with Scott over the years. he currently builds frames for the Bell's Beer race team(mtb, cross and road)great quality.

you know... orbea has the oven in house for heat treating and can do amazing custom work with starship tubing. the only non custom bit is that you have to choose from an existing headtube length. so.. if you look in spain... i'd have to tell you that the orbea custom starship i had was one of the finest bikes i've ever ridden.

that's all i can add.. you're getting great advice.

Here is another vote for Carl Strong. I have one of his ti bikes and I love it. Easy to work with and reasonable turn around time, too. ATMO.

Tiemeyer makes a nice frame- he is very detail oriented and will make exactly what you order.
I am waiting on a Rocklobster aluminum- I will let you know how it turns out.

I'll second Serotta_Pete's recommend for Hampsten Cycles, who works with Co-Motion as their aluminum builder. I didn't order an aluminum frame, but ordered two custom steel frames from Steve.

Despite having to do the orders over e-mail and being in separate countries (I'm assuming this request is also long distance) Steve really understood what I wanted & kept me steered in the right direction if I was asking for something that didn't make sense. Great service, great designer.

+1 on Steve.
