1. Is Dura Ace 7900 the last model made - 10 Speed?

2. Is Dura Ace the best option out there?

I want to convert a steel CRL into a flat bar townie. Silver is my preference.

If I recall correctly -

For Shimano, 7900 are the last ones - although 11V bar ends can be installed on downtube shifter bosses.

7800 were the last model wherein the right hand shifter could be switched between friction and indexed.

There is a way to mod 11V guts into earlier models. Ira from Breadwinner did it.

Not sure there were any models other than DA for DT or bar end 10 speed shifters. I think the same is true for 9 speed.
