Visiting a childhood friend in Maricopa AZ late September, short stay, maybe 4 days, looking for a decent place to grab a ride or three nearby. Also would need to rent a bike. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Maricopa is hell and gone from where I am in the PHX area, but I'd check in Chandler for a rental. Be prepared for HOT weather, really hot.

Do the "Ride around the Mountain" (South Mountain) with the option to ride to the top and/or San Juan. Prepare for heat stroke...so start before sunrise.
Maricopa is desolate. And beige. And flat. Don't know of any LBS in the area.
