Rebuilding a set of Athena hubs in preparation for an upcoming build, and it looks like these cones are a little short:crap:

And I'm mysteriously one ball bearing short of a full deck, just to top things off.:crap::crap:

Finding a set of Athena cups here in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday is a bit optimistic. Dang it.

I should have called the guys at vecchio's like the old spudster recommended.

Good thing I'm in no hurry.

I need to be out there riding anyways.:bike:

Bummer, I've been there before.

The left cone is the replacement and the right is the original? Is the original pitted, or can you just reuse it?

Missing one bearing is no big deal. I have heard of guys putting is as many as they can -1 anyway. I would just run the old cone if its not pitted.

Pitted pretty bad both left and right. Had to be one bearing short because I was careful removing and thought I just counted wrong.

I have a couple of local options I can try before I order some new. I just love tinkering with things on non ride Sunday's. Just par for the course in my routine of bicycle mechanics.
