I am going to sell my 2008 LeMond Alpe d'Heuz to fund a 6800 group for my Merckx. I am not really sure where to start on pricing, it doesn't seem like these come up frequently.

Specs:
-Full 5600 group (6700 chain and cassette)
-FSA bars and stem
-S-works post
-Specialized romin pro (carbon rails)
-Mavic Ksyrium SLs (probably need to be replaced)

What is a fair price?

This isn't exactly the answer you are looking for, but checking the completed eBay auctions will give you a good idea of the current market value of this bike.

Not sure how accurate the Bicycle Blue Book is, but here's what they have for your bike...

There aren't many that have sold on ebay recently. I am hoping that bike blue book price is a little low... I was thinking $750...

Then, consider offering it up for sale at $750 and see if it sells.

Is it one of the "spine" bikes or the later carbon version? The spine bikes go for about $700 (I've been trying and trying to get one for a while).

The carbon ones go for about the same even though they're newer. $750 isn't out of the realm of reasonable.

I have a soft spot for Lemonds.

I am not sure what you mean by spine, but basically the TT, DT, and SS are carbon, the rest are al.

From someone who keeps their eye on the used bike market, I think you would be lucky to get $500 for it.

Could probably max your return by selling parts individually. No one wants to buy a complete bike with wheels that need to be replaced.

"Spine" bikes were the 2004-2006 bikes that had carbon cockpits and steel or titanium. I thought the Alpe D'Huez 2008 might be the follow-up to that where the carbon was "spined" with aluminum. Keith's link confirms it.

There are folks who prize that particular design, though the steel and ti ones are the ones I watch, so I don't know whether the later aluminum ones have a following.
