Currently using a chair and box to hold my laptop while riding my road bike on the trainer. Found this at Performance but not certain if it will though reviews are fairly good. http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1028751_-1_400135__400135

Wondering if anyone is using a music stand, do it yourselfer, etc.?

One thing you'd want to verify is whether or not the Velcro strap that goes under the stem is strong enough to hold the additional weight of the having a laptop on there instead of simply a book.

Since this is not horizontal, but holds the item at an angle, will your laptop screen tilt far enough forward so it's at the correct position? I would think something like a tablet would fit better than a true laptop that has both a screen and a keyboard.

I am amazed that this is a thing but I guess not really. I've never used a real trainer.

I am amazed that this is a thing but I guess not really. I've never used a real trainer.

I used to try to ride inside. Did rollers for a while, then did rollers with a front fork support. Both turned my brain to mush, so I can understand why someone would look for some sort of stimulation while riding inside.

My solution was to give the rollers away and find other cardio-type stuff to do inside. An indoor rower works great for that, and I have one (CII Model C) but a while back I messed up my elbow (due to a combination of rowing and shoveling snow) so I bought a used LeMond Revmaster. We'll see how much use it gets this winter...

Totally. At first i thought this thread was a joke because who would ride around outside with a book in front of them? Then I realized not everyone lives where I do.

I did rollers when I lived in Chicago. They were fun for awhile.

I've got one of those and it's fine for a book or small tablet, but I wouldn't trust it to hold a laptop. Just doesn't seem very secure or strong. Plus, mounting and un-mounting is kind of a pain.

Extremely cheap TV stand from Target. This one that's now $10.

Sits right in front of me, & gets the hell out of the way when I'm not using it. Little extra room on it for whatever. Stable enough since I never touch it while on the bike.

Thanks. Kind of what I was thinking but good to know for certain.

This is the same type of thing I use. Works fine for my large Alienware 17" laptop, which I have connected to my Kickr trainer.

I try to only do really hard and short workouts on the trainer so watching tv is too hard. Podcasts seem ok though.
