Fall colors in full pop on Park City Ski Area, looking towards Deer Valley, and what happens when 740mm bars try to sneak through a 680mm gap in the trees...

One Trek a hiding...awfully dry hear. Thinking it will go green to dead overnight this season.

I'm totally cheating here because they're not my shots; they're my son's. He sent them to me but they're so spectacular, at least to my eyes, I'm going to post them. Hopefully he won't mind. They're too good to not be shared.

There need to be a forum rule that Velotel cannot post pics in threads from us mortals, its just not fair.

These were taken several years back when I rode a loop that went through a few townships such as Hunt, Leakey, Vanderpool, Medina, and also did some hiking in Lost Maples SP on the same day before the ride. It was in early November. Beautiful part of Texas, haven't been back since, just emailed my buddy to see if he's interested in going over there for a ride.http://alicehui.com/Lost_Maples/mini-100_3991.JPG

Here's our two colors in California: irrigated and not.

that is a stunning contrast picture Steve. Really cool.

where is that, and where does the water come from?

That is just outside of San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande in central California, about 10 miles in from the beach. Water comes from wells, many of which now have to be 300+ feet deep due to the local vineyards pulling much water out of the aquifer.
Here is another pic that shows the contrast:

Steve -- I wish we could share some of the water we received here in Florida this past summer. I think my area is just above 70 inches of rain for 2014 and part of my yard has been underwater for much of the summer.

We wish, too, Keith.
It has been a year of too much or too little in many places.
