Is there anything wrong with this year model?
2003 Campy Record Carbon Seatpost?

Some reports of the head coming "unglued" from the shaft.
They also changed the weave at some point. The earliest ones have a
90' weave pattern, and the later ones have a more multidirectional
layup, (in the cosmetic layer anyway) It's possible to crack a carbon
post with the seat lug interface. Check the torque rating, and make
sure the inside diameter of the seat tube is all good.
I wouldn't personally buy a used carbon post, since who knows where it's been.

I'm not sure if you really need to worry, maybe others will chime in.
I think E-richie had one come loose. I have about 3 of them in service,
no problems.
I've ordered from Totalcycling.com before. They are in Ireland, and the
shipping to north america was kinda expensive. I also got hit with duty on
a Jersey, but that was to Canada, so may not apply to you.
