Tour of CA -- How to get to KOM

I would like to watch the KOM on Empire Grade for today's Tour of CA. The race log says the riders will reach there between 2 and 3. What's the best way to get there -- I don't have time to ride too far by bike, so I'd like to drive and park as close as possible. If I can get close enough, my SO might come too.

the nly way you are going to get close os to leave NOW and go stand for a few hours. do not expect to roll up, walk over and see them. peopel wait a loooong time.

I am leaving now to park at bonny doon / hwy 1 and ride up. packing my lunch etc.
