BIANCHI PINELLA, 2005, 55cm
I picked up this bike from NYC Velo in 2007. It originally came with a triple and a 111mm bottom bracket spindle which I swapped for a double and 102mm spindle. When I swapped everything around, I took the bike into a different shop and had them handle the labor. For whatever reason, the f.der was adjusted and the clowndicked mechanic crimped the seat-tube. Grrr! He didn’t break the tube, but he did put and nice oaf-mark on there (I sanded some of the paint off to see and put down a protective coating afterwards). The f.der still work shifts crisply though!
This frameset was handmade in Italy and is an oversize Boron Steel tubeset. STEEL. Stiff as hell.

Pinella – Named after the legendary mechanic of Fausto Coppi. Constructed from HLSA (High Strength Low Alloy) micro-alloy steel, featuring a tensile strength of 1.400 N/mm2. Thanks to the use of triple-butted tubing and LTP Low Torsion special profiles, it ensures lightness and rigidity during acceleration. A special cataphoresis surface treatment protects the surface (internally and externally) making it both durable and corrosion resistant. Handbuilt in Italy.
