Thanks StephenCL and spamjoshua. (pics of new bike)

I picked up the frame and a LOT of parts from StephenCL over here: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=51388
I picked up a few more parts from spamjoshua and he was kind enough to spend an evening with me in his bike shop putting this thing together. I think it looks beautiful!
I plan on getting some clipless pedals on there eventually. Keep in mind that I was trying to keep a tight budget with the whole bike as well.

Sweet bike.

Love the contrast; the older Chorus brakes, Grammo Ti stem, and yet the current carbon Ergos.

That's a really good looking bike with an interesting build. Only thing I'd worry about is running that 8 speed Chorus crank as 10 spd. New rings on there? Does it tear chain under heavy pedalling stress (especially in the 18-20th gear)?

The rear is all 9 speed. Crankset is an Campagnolo Croce D'Aune 53/39 (8 speed), and then the 10 speed record derailleurs.
So far it is working out pretty well.

Now that's just downright weird. Did Serotta beat Bruce Gordon to the lugged Ti frame or is that thing steel? (Just visited the link and found out it's a Csi, answering my own question...)

Shifters 9-speed? RD seems to be a Chorus 9, which is good for a 9 spd drivetrain .

Very interesting bike. Repaint that and you'll have an ultimate Serotta.

Danny

9 - speed rings

They were NOS Croce d' Aune Cranks and I put on NOS 9speed exadrive rings. A very sweet set up indeed. The bike looks great. Congratulations.

Steel frame (some of the paint just makes it look Ti) and 9 speed shifters.
Paint is certainly something I will end up touching up over time. Gotta find the right matches.

Here is the full breakdown:

CSI Steel frame
F1 carbon fork
Chris King headset
Cinelli Grammo Ti stem
American Classic Ti post
Flite saddle
Campy Chorus 9 speed rear derailleur
Campy Chorus 9 speed cassette
Campy Record 10 speed front derailleur
Campy Croce D'Aune crankset
Campy Chorus monoplanar's brakes
Campy Record 9 speed carbon levers
Mavic Aksium wheels
Michelin Pro Race tires
Tioga Spider pedals

I think I got everything there (not sure what the bars are). I probably should have dropped that in the first post.

admirable job

Sometimes bikes "pieced together" hit that sweet spot, unique and cool...I have a real soft spot for Serottas w. red/yellow paint..that and the campy mix...Nice! Big D
