Help with identifying this front rack
I thought it's an Old Man Mountain but I'd like to score one for my new Indy Fab.

I suspect it's a Jandd: https://www.jandd.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FREXT
I have one, it's a nice rack. Chris |

I have a jandd extreme front rack and love it. That thing has been on 3 different bikes and countless trips between 1 and 4 days. Its held way more than it probably should and still looks great.
The top platform is legitimately useful(vs some other ones that dont seem too beneficial) and the multiple bag mounting heights is great. For years now I have mounted 2 rear panniers up front on the low rider level bars. Whats really nice is how easy it is to mount. After initial setup(needed correct length spacers), it is on the bike in just a couple minutes since its just tightening 4 bolts. |

From Jandd, their rack shop is closed and all the racks are currently out of stock.
So I'm looking around but hopefully they'll make some more. I have a few Tubus racks so I'm okay for now but the Jandd ones would look great on my IF. |

Jannd Extreme Front Rack
Man, brings back memories...
I had one of these on my touring bike that I rode from NYC to California ... LOVED that rack.. At the time, I ran front panniers on that rack a Lone Peak rack-less handlebar bag. often when I had wet or dirty clothes, I would put them in a separate bag and put them on top of the rack. Gotta be one of the better aluminum designs out there. No secret that steel is often considered better bc it wont snap all of a sudden and can be welded more easily, and for smaller parts that get more stress, i tend to consider that kind of thing more.. but on a large rack like this, it always seemed very unlikely that it would just break on me. Granted, I was mostly on smooth paved roads. But its a great option all around. Touring for sure, but even commuting, I could imagine throwing a wald basket on top and using that most of the time, but maybe in winter when I feel the need to bring extra clothes to work or another pair of shoes, put the panniers on too. I hope you can find one! best, |
