When *is* Matchy Matchy too Matchy? Help

First of all thanks to @hilltoppenny (frame) and @Clean39T (misc hardware) for parts to pull this build together.

I am trying to leverage the orange highlights on this bike which is for a woman since the base color is not amazing.

Already decided that Wahoo mount is the wrong Orange and will go. Question if the orange seat collar should be added. I bought the wrong size, so needs replacing anyway.

And bar tape. I have a few options, not convinced by any of them. Orange seems overkill. Black? Grey/Brown match the paint? Thoughts? Fire away, there are no bad ideas (well there are actually bad ideas, but not about bar tape).

Rest of the build is SRAM force with Red crank and black wheels. Black saddle.

Fire away...

I’m of the opinion bar tape should always be black.

I used to try to do this but nothing is ever the exact same color and if you want to sell bits and pieces it may be a harder unless someone else is playing the same matchy matchy game. I do like the subtle supacaz tape designs but I find it flattens out way too prematurely even if you can find it for ~$20 it’s just not for me and bikes that see lot of miles. Does the rider like orange? If so, they could find some select pieces of kit to really tie the whole thing together. My two cents is that bike screams all black so those pinstripes really pop! Have fun either way.

What you have there is good. Matching tires is what kills it for me.

You want to talk about matching then you need to talk to our own Bumblebee Dave. He has a black and yellow belt in matching.

I don't think that's excessive. But more (e.g. tires) would be.

Black with orange dots?

Black with Dots or, How about "Coffee" kind of works with the frame color...

Can always change later, but the coffee, seems like it could be a subtle touch...

Bar tape should be black but rotors would be fun and not too much color. One can have fun with bar/saddle bags.

It is really nice tape. I used to have white tape but this is much better as far as keeping it looking nice. I think you could have some white items mixed in instead all black / orange.
