Thumbs up fizik glossy tape?

has anyone used fizik's new glossy tape? how does it feel? any pictures? I'm looking for a white tape that is very thin and either stays clean or is easily cleaned with some soap & water.

thanks

back in the day, I used that vinyl bikeribbon in white and it stayed fairly clean. but that tape, while still available, is much too thick for my tastes these days.

but yeah, I know what you're sayin'...

Not necessarily... I've switched all my bikes over to the deda carbon bar tape about a year ago. The white's still clean after a full season. I can't really notice any fading, unlike my experience with the white fizik tape (not the glossy version though...).

compared to fizik, how thick is the deda carbon? that's another option...

It's probably about the same as the regular fizik. Maybe a schootch thicker. I'll bust out the digital calipers when I get home later and give you the exact.

I've had Fizik white microtape on my foul weather ride for over a year with no issues. Easy to clean, very strong and very thin. I actually would prefer it a bit thicker as my Winter gloves have little padding. Now that Summer is here, no issues as my gloves are pretty well padded.

I have the regular fizik white microtex...any "green' cleanser and back to white again

The new glossy white is, well, glossy. No idea if it cleans/wipes better but I think it looks too much like vinyl for me. Don't care for the "shine"

I have it on my fixed gear. It is thicker and less grippy(?) than the non glossy. It is comfortable, seems very durable and so far stays remarkably clean.

I'd steer clear of the glossy white. Not fun if you're riding without gloves, at all. It just feels like vinyl, really.

I have some black glossy tape at home that I haven't installed yet. Feels way to smooth/slippery to me, I much prefer the regular Fizik tape when it comes to how it feels to your hands.

Measuring in the center of the strip (w/ the white strip that covers the adhesive still attached):

Fizik Regular White Tape: 1.98mm
Deda Carbon Black (didn't have spare white to measure) Tape: 2.28mm

Hope that helps. I guarantee the glossy (well at least deda's) is easier to clean than regular fizik white. You don't have to mess w/ any chemicals, it just wipes off .

Long time fizik user here, microtex soft always with good longevity. Tried the regular microtex and in just three months it was failing with the outer color layer abrading down to the white layer in 5 spots. I need to return it to the lbs.
