Rolled tubular at Paris-Nice
Watch from minute 6:00 to the finish for a nasty crash as a result of an apparent rolled tubular.

I would think he locked his rear brake, causing the wheel to "skid" causing the tire to roll. I hope pro mechanics can glue tires by now.

Watch it again and because he is an idiot and tries to kick his bike off of himself he causes how many others to crash.
Hopefully someone ran over him. |

He got a flat just in the sprint at that speed u can't continue kicking and he continued anyways...the worse, happened in a curve, the bike skided big time.
When the tubulars rolled off the the rim the tubular doen't lose any air, in his case the tubular is still glued and flat like a ruler, he's got a flat in the worse moment. Bad luck. |

he didn't throw his bike.
someone hit the rear wheel as they tried to get by him and made it look like he threw the bike away... |

Really....it looks to me like he is trying to move because the entire peloton is approaching at 35+ and he thinks his head is going to get centerpunched. Unfortunately the bike is still stuck to his feet. "hopefully someone ran over him".....classy.

Agreed. It looked to me as if, when he hit the pavement, the momentum of the bike made him spin around on his back. When I've crashed in races or rides, I've managed to be lucky enough that what happened to me involved no other riders or spectators. When you crash, you have no control -- you're no longer a rider,, just a passenger. Mike in AR

It was just the momentum that caused this. He didn't mean to take anyone down
This very thing happened to me in a short ring speed skating race, guy on the inside went down, took me out as I was passing him on the outside around a curve. Simular to someone on a ski slope who falls and there forward motion takes them further down the MTN. Seen it plenty of times where someone is standing , someone falls behind them, and takes them out also.. As fixed said, ???? happens.... As Angry said, uncalled for comments...
