rumor monger

I've heard that Ritchey is going to begin releasing silver stems (and maybe bars?). Is this true? Does anyone know where I can find information, beyond rumors, about this? Thanks.

Yes, and it's called the "Classic" collection.

They are on the Ritchey site now. 73mm reach and 128mm drop - Classic Curve.

Here is a link to a photo of the stem and bar together from a recent thread here:

Ritchey Classic Curve

Edit: although on the Ritchey site the curve seems to be a different shape.

Edit 2: The Ritchey site shows the silver classic stem model as 84D but the angle is listed as 73/17. Looks like it is 84. I sent Ritchey an email.

On the Ritchey site now...These parts are purty! Seems like a great business move for them.

They've been on eBay for a bit. US bike shop seller. Posts, stems, bars $69-79, depending on which part.

I was told yesterday by my parts distributor that the silver stuff is on the shelf.

I ordered one of the stems directly from Ritchey last night. That said, unless I'm missing something, the bars for sale in the US seem to be different from the ones pictured in jlwdm's link, don't they? Does anyone know where one can get bars like the ones in jlwdm's link? Again, thanks.

Akelman:

I went to the RBR thread the photos and found a post from a Ritchey representative that the curve is the production model:

"The bars pictured above were just mock up Logic II bars. The actual bars will have the Curve shape....
It's not totally "classic" in shape but much closer than the Logic II. They'll have a 128mm drop and a 73mm reach..."

From one of his later posts:

"The bar is the same shape as the Curve and the stem is the same as the WCS 4-Axis stem."

Thanks, Jeff. That's both really helpful and also too bad (from my perspective).

Best,

Ari

Next question, how to take the graphics off the stems without damaging the polish look?

Simichrome or Mothers and some fine-grade steel wool?

Next question:

Does anybody know if these will be available in OS only? They're not really 'Classic' unless they're offered in the classic 26.0 size too, no?

Nothing like covering silver parts with tons of hideous logos.
