There was some discussion of this across the hall a few weeks back when the news first broke. Nothing much of substance, other than some speculation that it was Eddy's response to the realization that Axel wasn't going to take over the biz.

My own "insider" source mentioned that a deal with Pinarello to take over had been arranged and all but sealed when Eddy left the Italians at the altar and announced the deal with his Belgiam homies. Haven't seen anything in print about this, however.
