FS - Merckx MX Leader 25 Anniv Motorola 57cm

I'm thinking about selling my Merckx and I wanted to see if there would be any interest.

Merckx MX Leader 25 Anniv Motorola - 57cm
Full Centaur Group
Compact UT Crank
Open Pro Wheels
Merckx Selle Italia Saddle, Bar Tape and Bar Ends
Silver 3MMM Bar and Stem
Silver Campy Seat Post
Michelin Pro Race Tires

Bike has around 500 miles, excellent shape. Looks vintage with the silver bar, stem and seat post.

I'd like to get $2500 / OBO for it...

I will get pictures up later today, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks everyone for their comments and input. Please let me know if you have any interest in the bike otherwise I will probably put it on eBay by the weekend.

I believe all of the 25th year Anniversary MX Leader frames were built in either 2005 or 2006 and I've heard that there were only 100 imported into the USA.

2005 GITA catalog

They were sold as part of GITA's 2005 catalog, so were likely built in 2004.

I bought mine in Sept '05 and the previous owner had taken original delivery from Merckx in August '04.

Beautiful bike. Is it 57cm c-c on the seat tube? Could you give other tube measurements?

Thanks.

I'm sure someone else will be able to add to these numbers, but this link has at least some of the frame statistics. If you need anything else measured on the bike just let me know. Thanks!

Bike was last run

was part of the 05 line
bike has special serial# telling you which it is out of 100
Drive side of BB
mine is #51
too small for me
oh and 2005 was the 25th Anniv. (it was also Lance's last TdF)which is why I think Merckx chose Motorola
the 2004s were Molteni

I just checked, it's #30 out of 100. Thanks for the tip on the location of the number!

GL with the sale. This bike and the 63 frameset posted seem like they're from the same vintage. I guess I never knew they'd command the kinds of prices being asked (but then again they haven't sold yet AFAIK).
