Still better than a trainer ride...

OK... 33 degrees, grey skies, NW wind at 12-15 mph. An hour and 15 minute ride... fingers and toes stinging the last half.

Still beats the he** out of time on the trainer.

25F at the start, no wind, 22 miles to the pancakes and cocoa.
Low 30s.F 20 miles back to the start and more hot chocolate,
the new recovery drink of choice.

Today... down to 22 degrees, SUNNY, but that raw wind out of the NW at 10-15 mph.

Same loop, an hour and 20; fingers move past stinging into numb, club-like sensation, making shifting difficult. Downhills start to feel like torture chambers and every slow uphill climb is welcome. Quarter mile long chase by farm dog (he was good for 20+ mph into that wind!).

Finish with icicles on beard.

Trainer starts to look a little better...

I'm a member of the 30/30 club..sorta...30 degrees and 30 mph winds on today's ride. I got in 80 minutes. I didn't know about the extent of the wind until it was too late. My ears are still cold.

I would think that riding enthusiasts wouldn't categorize rides as cold unless it was actually well below the freezing mark.

about an hour and a half per day on the mtn bike in bend thursday, friday and sunday, with a little sun and between 25-35 F. It was cold but glorious riding.

trebon was out and about on the road friday afternoon.

Tonight, I'm afraid its the elliptical and rollers or the trainer for an hour or so.
