Does anyone have any experience ordering a custom frame from Rebolledo Cycles, in Glen Ellen, California? These bikes look _really_ nice. Thanks.

His price for a frame-fork starts at $2500.00..For that, you can have Dave Kirk frame and fork painted by Joe Bell...

Seems like a MUCH better deal.

I totally agree, Steve. His frames seem a little pricy given that he is a relative newcomer. Oh, and since you mention Dave Kirk, I just got in line for my third frame from him. Dave is awesome

Mauricio is a newcomer in the sense that he only recently (2 or 3 years ago)hung out a shingle but he did apprentice at Sycip which in my eyes is the way a builder should start out. Too many start out by taking a class and after one frame is under their belt they go into business. Customers pay them to learn how to build bikes. That's messed up. If you like what you see in his bikes I bet Mauricio can deliver a fine bike. None of this has anything to do with Dave Kirk and his fine bicycles.

I already own a Zankolicious Zank. It's one of my favorite bikes, along with my Goodrich and my Weigle. I better start getting in line for one of Sacha's beauties; it'll be a long wait.

Bump for Mauricio. I have known him since Cross nats were in portland four years ago.

His bikes are _gorgeous_ and as Curt G. pointed out, he has had good training. On top of this, he is intellegent and super friendly.

I followed the link to his website and he appears to have the same sense of pride in craftsmanship as the builders who we admire on this site. Good luck to you Maurice. Framebuilding is an art and a science, mixed with the unfortunate reality of having to put bread on the table.
