FS: Vintage Mavic 550-RD "Pro" 100/130 mm & Campagnolo Rim Wheelset

For sale is a very nice and extremely rare Mavic 550-RD "Pro" model hub-set with 130mm rear spacing and laced to 32-hole Campagnolo Omega silver clincher rims.

The 550-RD hubs were the top of line model with various enhancements and are distinguished by the exposed cartridge bearing on the drive side rear hub.

The best feature is the 130 mm rear hub spacing to allow an 8-speed freewheel and use on later model frames.

Wheel spins true and the bearings are buttery smooth. There are some brake pad residue on the braking surfaces.

Asking $250 net, plus shipping via Bike Flight if necessary.

Please PM for more photos and info.

Thanks for looking!

Interesting rear hub. When you said 130, I expected to see cassette splines, not threaded. I don't get 130 on your caliper measurement, but then, those calipers are certainly different in the way they translate measurement from the ones I use, so I would have to use them in person to get used to that.

The caliper read-out starts at the lower ‘0’ hash mark (and not at the plastic edge) and unfortunately it’s also not the most sophisticated caliper

Cheers,
