SOLD:Serotta Fierte IT frame/fork/headset, 58cm
SOLD: really nice 58cm Serotta Fierte IT frame. Comes with a Reynolds Ouzo Pro 1-1/8" fork, matte black Chris King headset, and two seatpost collars, a black Salsa and the original brushed aluminum Serotta collar.
This is the titanium and carbon fiber version of the Fierte-geometry frames. Has titanium headtube, seat tube, bottom bracket and chainstays, with carbon fiber top tube, down tube, seat stays, and fork. It's roughly half carbon fiber and half titanium. The titanium is in the places where you need the durability. like the seat tube, so you don't need to worry about a special protective shim for the front derailleur clamp. And the 'lugs' are all titanium. It's a beautiful riding frame, incredibly comfortable and smooth but stiff enough for any hammerfest. Price: $995, including shipping w/i CONUS. Frame is very user-friendly: takes a threaded English bottom bracket, external cables, and rim brakes. Easily handles 28mm tires. The Fierte IT has been called the affordable version of the Serotta Ottrott. For buying secondhand, it's less of a risk since it was built with standard tubing and geometry, rather than being a possibly weird custom configuration designed for one particular person. The geometry chart is posted below. This is a stock 58. Great for someone around 6 feet tall. For reference, I'm 6-2 and am using 20mm of spacers under the stem and have 16cm of seatpost showing above the seat collar. Fork steerer tube length is about 295mm. Frame is in great shape. The top tube decals were removed and a new layer of clear coat was then applied over the carbon TT. Thanks for looking. Last edited by tv_vt; 04-21-2023 at 08:16 PM. |

Excellent frame! I have the same bike and frame with probably a later production and the Serotta S3 carbon fork. It is probably the best riding bike I have in my stable.

I’ll second the “Just my size” comment.

Hey, some of the greatest discoveries started out as bad ideas.
![]() But I wouldn't put acquiring this frame in the category of Bad Ideas, ever. Last edited by tv_vt; 02-27-2023 at 10:31 AM. |

Forgot to mention seatpost size: frame comes with a shim installed for using a standard 27.2mm seatpost (as shown in photos). You can slide out the shim and use a 30.9mm seatpost if desired.

Had the same model until I drove it into the garage. Replaced it with a later model. The smoothest ride I have (and I have a 585!) ... an Ottrott at a reasonable price!

Bump, along with a note that the original brushed aluminum Serotta seatpost collar is included, along with a black Salsa collar.
I'm really trying to sell this before Spring gets here, before I take it out for a ride and end up deciding to keep it. |

Bump for those who just read the How Many Bikes is Too Many thread and realized they have a long way to go to reach N(max).
Interested? Let's talk. Need a few more parts to finish the build? Let's talk. ('talk' = PM ![]() Last edited by tv_vt; 03-19-2023 at 10:36 AM. |

I got all excited until I realized that a Serotta 58 is a 56. Lovely thing but I'm too big.

The want is strong with this one. If I manage to sell my wife’s cargo bike I may have to get this if it’s still available.
