Looking for: Shimano 105 5700 Groupset

Hello all,

I came across a local 12 year old kid who has fallen in love with riding. He saved up his money over the last year to buy a used specialized allez that came with some pretty tattered shimano Tiagra that doesn't really work. Has some RD and right shifter damage, but you would think he is looking at a brand new 2019 Venge because he loves it. I'm thinking about trying to help him out with a shimano 105 5700 10 speed groupset. Might only need shifters and derailleurs.

If you have a cheap 10 speed set laying around, even if it is scratched up a bit. Let me know what you can do.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, we will see how much it costs though for me to be able to help. I've talked with his dad and he doesn't know much about cycling parts. I said I would try to see what I could find out there.

I have a 5800 front STI lever you can have for free.
I crashed and it’s a teeny bit scratched but not a ton and it works perfectly.

Why don't you just buy this and call it a day?

Yeah that would be a good deal. But I have come across a couple members who had some parts laying around and willing to help out as well, which will end up getting me what is needed for much cheaper.

thanks for pointing that option out though!

Hey man, if 11-speed is an option, I just pulled a 5800 fd and rd off my commuter bike. the parts still work great, I just need to clean them up. Happy to send them to you for free if you can pay the shipping!

mix with used ultegra 6700, 6600 or 6500 derailleurs and dura ace 7900 7800 or 7700 derailleurs You can get an entire dura ace 7800 set for less than $200 on ebay. 6600 set is even cheaper. they are all 10 speeds, 9 speed 7700 dura ace and 6500 ultegra rear derailleurs works with 10 speed shimano STI levers..
