Feeler WTB: Cheap 57/58 Road Bike

I've been thinking it might be nice to have a bike at work for lunch rides. I typically ride my big long tail to work - not so great for road rides, something a little quicker might get me out more. I've been cruising the local Craigslist and it's dry as a bone. Basically, looking for something cheap, maybe an old Cannondale or something? The only really preference is that it have lever shifters and that's not even a requirement. Anybody got anything collecting dust in the garage?

I have a really quick Guru Racelite frameset I need to sell, and am sitting on an older Centaur group I could add to the mix. Would you be interested in putting something together? How high can you go on total cost?

Saul aka CaptStash

PS: Where are you in the PNW? If you are near Seattle we could probably cobble this together cheaper.

If you want to build a bike I have a Ciocc 57 cm. I’ve been thinking of getting it back on the road, but would let it go to a good home.

Guru and centaur would work (bonus points for Campy, naturally) ... but honestly, probably looking to spend less than $350 or $400. Fully recognize my price range limits options. Perfectly happy to cobble things together though. I'm up in Bellingham, but I do get down to Seattle often enough to pick something up.

Pretty bike, but this would very much not be a "good home" this would be a shared bike room in the basement of my office building and the absolute minimum of maintenance

I have a circa 2000 AL Torelli Spada that's pretty nice. Also a 90s Cannondale 2.8 R600 or R800. Spada is red with natural carbon fork, otherwise looks like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-TOR...frcectupt=true

Cannondale is very dark purple, has the original AL fork. It appears to be a 1995 R800, but the catalog says that bike came with a carbon fork, so it's a bit of an enigma. August 1995 build date though.

Hmmm.... I recognize that setting/background... if I’m right, I’ve watched many bikes/frames over the years. Also: cool Torelli.

I have a BH Extralight large that’s 57cm top tube I need gone.
Frame/fork/crankset/seat post, all BH branded. Frame is under 1000 grams, if I remember 850 with bottom bracket. Fork is under 300 and is uncut.
I’d do it for 450 shipped with PayPal. I’d need to ship it via bike flights but that’s easy. It has external cables and I somehow lost the seat post binder on the frame so you’d need that(15 bucks for a fine one).

Be a sweet lunch rocket at a fine price point.

I could put together a 58cm caad9 with some 9 speed parts for under $400. Seatpost is stuck at roughly 79cm height though with a prologo saddle.
