Outing a seller?

A seller here has sold a damaged frame than blamed the buyer (I'm not the buyer) for the damage. The buyer opened up a dispute with paypal and sends the frame back. Seller than posted the frame on his local craigslist, no mention of the damage. Buyer responses to craigslist ad by using a different e-mail address and asks if the frame is still available and if there is any damage, seller says "Nope, no damage, great frame ready to ride!"
The seller never responded to this when he was outed here and continues to sell on this forum.

My question, do you out the buyer and hope someone else does the same for you? Or, say nothing when you see seller here selling, none of my business?

the definition of damaged frame is not universally shared amongst buyers.

if you share the details on what constitutes "damaged" that would be pertinent

Can you define the damage first?

I recommend a post in the feedback thread with any facts you have. This is not eBay or craigslist. We look out for each other here and facts speak for themselves.

It looks clearly damaged to me, and damage such as that is only going to get worse with each reach for your bottle. I don't use the classified section of the forum but if I did I'd want to know about this guy's shadiness.

Oh yea, that’s damaged in my book. I’d out, that’s an area that a prospective buyer may not catch either if covered by cage. I once drove 8+ hours for a bike that turned out to be damaged and am still mad about it years later.

Not specific to the instance, but more broadly, my two cents is...

We’re a community that, at our best, shares things and tries to help each other and look out for each other. Selling stuff isn’t why this place thrives. Trust is, and looking out for each other is.

Sharing info about questionable sales integrity feels in keeping with our community. Lots of places are the Wild West for selling stuff. I’d rather we didn’t go that way.

yes - then we can see what the seller has to say, but if I were he/she I would just slink away.

Agreed that it is damaged and should be disclosed to a potential buyer.

I think I would PM, email seller with your concern and PM a moderator. Seems like a civil way to go about it and allow the seller to, as said earlier, slink away.
