Pegoretti 8:30AM Cyclocross 56-57 cm NOW $600 shipped

Up for grabs is this ultra rare Pegoretti 8:30 AM Cyclocross. I purchased this from a pro racer who rode for Team Nerac. He was selling 2 frames and I picked the best one.

In case you aren't familiar, the 8:30 AM was Pegoretti's "affordable" aluminum bike made of Columbus 7005. I'm ridden Pegoretti's nicer aluminum frames like the scandium Love #3 and much prefer the 8:30 AM.

Geometry:

ST: 56.5 c-c, 61 c-t
TT: 57 c-c
HT: 15 end-end
CS: 42.5 cm

This frame has top tube cable routing and a FD pulley. BB is Italian threaded. 130 mm rear spacing. 1 1/8" HT. Canti/V-brake. 31.0 mm seatpost.

Condition is well used. Plenty of little nicks and paint blems. There is a tiny dent in the TT I just noticed when wiping the bike down. It's really hard to photograph, but here it is:

There is also plenty of paint missing on the driveside chainstay:

The racer whom I bought it from said bigger chainrings sit rather close to the big chainstays. I tried a 50/34 compact Shimano which fits perfectly. A 52/36 is tight, a 53/39 is a no-go.

This frame clears a 700 x 33 tire and no more. Here is what a Clement MSO USH 700 x 35 tire on a Mavic Open Pro looks like. The tire measures 32.5 mm actual with calipers:

Price is $600 shipped and paypal'd. For that price I'll include a proper WR Compositi 31.0 mm seatpost and a new 1 1/8" carbon canti fork.

That is stupid cheap....I say keep it if you can. If it was 2-3cm bigger I'd snap it up.

Yeah, I know. The seatpost and fork alone are worth the asking price, but I'm doing a big move soon and don't want to pack half-projects. That being said I wouldn't be too bummed to have this as a project on the other side.

Dreaming of a light 1x tubeless build...
